With all the added stress and worry placed on not only our students, but educators as well, now is the time to really make use of your peace shelf. Providing a small space in your classroom dedicated to allowing time for students to process, center, and practice mindfulness is not only simple, but necessary. Peace shelves do not have to be complex, just a simple space somewhere in your room that contain activities for students to take a brain break. Below are some ideas for your shelf. It is also good practice to change out activities at least twice a year in order to keep your students engaged and continuously using the peace shelf as needed.
